The RESCUE consortium was strongly represented at this year’s HiPEM-TECH workshop, showcasing the project’s latest developments through an opening keynote, technical presentations, poster contributions, and an exhibit.
The workshop opened with the keynote lecture by Jan Lorscheidt (Federal Agency for Technical Relief – THW), entitled „Addressing Mobile Power Supply Challenges in Disaster Response Using Fuel Cell Technology.“ His presentation highlighted the operational requirements of emergency power supply and emphasized that user needs and fuel logistics are key factors when selecting suitable energy solutions for disaster response. Rather than replacing conventional diesel generators, fuel cell technologies should be deployed where they provide clear operational advantages, enabling both technologies to complement one another in different application scenarios.
RESCUE partners also contributed to the scientific programme with several presentations covering different aspects of high-temperature PEM fuel cell technology:
A special highlight for the RESCUE project was the Best Poster Award voted by the workshop participants, which was given to Arash Nemati (DTU) for his contribution on thermal management in HT-PEM fuel cells. The award reflects the high scientific quality of the research carried out within the RESCUE consortium.
In addition to the scientific presentations, the RESCUE project was represented by an exhibit and a project banner, giving workshop participants the opportunity to learn more about the project’s objectives and its innovative approach to resilient emergency power supply based on HT-PEM fuel cell technology.
The strong participation of the consortium at HiPEM-TECH underlines RESCUE’s commitment to advancing HT-PEM fuel cell technology for civil protection and emergency response while fostering collaboration and knowledge exchange within the fuel cell community.
The RESCUE consortium thanks the HiPEM-TECH organisers for an excellent workshop and all participants for the valuable discussions and interest in the project.
